CNC Machinist placed at Paul Fabrications - Mar 2009

Background:

Paul Fabrications was founded in 1937, they manufacture a range of Fabricated and Machined assemblies used in the Aerospace, Defence and Power Sector’s. Paul Fabrications is based in Castle Donington, Derbyshire, England and employs 130 members of staff.

The CADCAM role that Jane was asked to fill was due to a retirement of a very experienced and long-term member of staff at the company.

It was a particularly difficult skill set to find, especially with the particular CADCAM package (Radan) that the company required. Furthermore, the company desperately needed to fill the position due to the essential function that the role performed.

Jane prioritised the role immediately to begin an extensive candidate search. She used a combination of all the avenues available to her, including the extensive candidate database of Jenrick Engineering, her network of Engineering Professionals and also a range of targeted Internet Job Boards.  Utilising all these tools Jane was able to find a successful candidate, Sean Ahern who started in February.

Following the success of the CADCAM role, Jane was given a further role to fill for a CNC Machinist.

Using the same dedicated approach to candidate sourcing Jane found 3 highly suited candidates within 24 hours, all of whom were interviewed. 

Chris Maddocks was offered the position on the very same day as his interview, so Jane was able to turn this position around in just 2 days, enabling the client time for a detailed handover without any interruption to production.

Jane made a routine visit to the site several months after making the placements to see how both applicants were settling into their new roles. Sean and Chris were progressing extremely well and enjoying their new roles.
