Eating grass is good for you

Sophie Paterson, one of our consultant team in Jenrick Commercial, kindly contributed this article after becoming a frequent purchaser of Wheatgrass through her local Zest Juice bar.

First things first - wheatgrass is not a fad. It’s nutritional qualities have been well-documented since the 1950’s, however, what has changed is that in the last few years the re-emergence of smoothies and juice bars has made it popular once more.

Wheatgrass is now widely acknowledged as one of nature’s true super foods. When grown in organic soil it retains 82 out of the 92 minerals that are present in soil and 1oz of wheatgrass juice is said to contain the same amount of nutrients as 2.5 lbs of green vegetables.

It is perfect for dieters, athletes, people on the go, who want to maintain a healthy immune system, or simply anyone who wants to feel GREAT.

It contains 70% chlorophyll, chlorophyll being the basis of all plant life. Science has proven that chlorophyll arrests growth and development of unfriendly bacteria, so, just by having this in your system you are doing yourself a lot of good.

What’s good is that you can grow it and make it at home. Simply type Wheatgrass into Google and you’ll find an abundance of websites that tell you more about all the nutrients it contains and also how you can make it at home.

Or, if you prefer the lazier approach . . .find your nearest juice bar and go in for a shot!
