CNC Machinist
Operating Milling Machines and Surface Grinders
Derby area
Temporary Contract initially, transferring to a Permanent Position after 2-3 months
£8-9 per hour

Are you an experienced Machinist with experience in operating/setting CNC Milling Machines and Surface Grinders, looking for a new opportunity to join a company with a reputation for successfully applying sound engineering principles to meet ever changing needs of customers.

As Machinist, you will work in a modern manufacturing facility in Derbyshire, employing over 100 personnel using the latest technology with an ongoing commitment to investment that has ensured that quality and service is maintained. You will be responsible for operating and setting (not programming) CNC milling machines and surface grinders, measuring and using gauges. Jobs are already programmed so this role is to basically to manufacture them + self inspect them. The company have 4 CNC lathes and 4 milling machines, and you will work for the production department, reporting to the Team Leader.

You will be an experienced Semi Skilled Machinist with experience in Operating and Setting CNC Milling Machines and Surface Grinders. Knowledge of Fanuc controls is desirable, and from a mechanical engineering background. Ideally Time Served or equivalent.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a company involved in the development of many major engine programmes for both civil and military applications. They use the latest technology including 5 axis laser cutting, and customise solutions that leverage their extensive knowledge of fabrication and machining which delivers parts on-time and to budget.

In return they offer an hourly rate of £9.00 per hour, starting off on a days role, 39 hours per week, with the possibility of changing to double day shift.
