The Suitable Candidate:-

Experienced Quality Control Metrologist / CMM Programmer
From an Automotive Precision Component or Engineering Manufacturing background, with experience in Customer and Supplier problem solving and corrective actions
Previous experience of using the equipment including CMM's, verniers, shadowgraphs
Previous experience in a design or manufacturing environment.
Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of some high level technical drawings and have a clear understanding of GD&T, so that you are able to work unsupervised.
You must be able to liaise and converse with design, manufacturing and production engineers.

The Role:-

As Metrologist, you will work in the Quality Control Office, responsible for a variety of measurement tasks from short first off/last off jobs to much longer and more complex layout inspections or Initial Sample Inspection Reports.
Above all accuracy and flexibility is key, as production demand a quick turnaround of first off's to maximise efficiency. Measurement tools available are 2 C.M.M. machines including a modern just purchased OGP machine including optical capability, plus verniers and shadowgraph. Training on the C.M.M. to adjust to a new type of machine is available but if you are conversant with Measuremind this will be an advantage.
Record keeping is also a requirement of the position.
