Location: Kent
Salary: £48,000 - £54,000 per annum
Benefits: 25 days holiday, up to 20% bonus scheme, employee and family healthcare, life cover, money purchase pension scheme, loyalty bonus scheme (x salary) up to 6% per year, company car or car allowance, private fuel and accident cover.
Hours: 8:30am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday. Flexibility expected/required
This world wide leader in their field is seeking an Engineering Manager to join their expanding business.
With 12+ production lines, the company manufacturer a range of short shelf life products in vast quantities which are delivered to strict quality/time KPI's to major Supermarkets. The site runs 24 hours 7 days a week with a current workforce of 800 + staff on site.
The environment is modern, clean, fast and exciting.
Based in Kent, the ideal candidate should live within a commutable distance from the site, however, people who are actively looking at relocating to Kent/the South East, would also be of interest.
The Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the whole Engineering Department and manages a £1 Million Budget.
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for a team 20-30 Engineers plus two Maintenance Managers to deliver to challenging KPI's.
Other responsibilities include effective recruitment, planned preventative maintenance schedules, continuous improvements, projects, Health and Safety and management meetings.
Suitable Candidates are likely to have all or most of the following:
- Experienced as an Engineering Manager
- Electrical or Mechanical qualifications (time served or ONC or HNC or Degree)
- Food, Drink, Dairy, Pharmaceutical or Chemical manufacturing experience
- Budget control experience
- Managed large teams (20 + Engineers)
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Continuous Improvement and Project management background
- Analytical and problem solving minded
- Decision making under pressure
- Excellent communication skills
- Business awareness
- Advanced Health & Safety Knowledge
- Ability to lead and direct a team on a day and shift capacity
- Career motivated
