Purpose of the Role:

Support operations by developing the manufacturing process route to ensure that parts are produced in line with customers technical requirements coupled with internal cost and quality standard. Assist Engineering leadership in coaching and training employees to understand engineering related topics. Attend operational engineering reviews. Support product reviews. Support the completion of FAIR documentation.

Duties will include:

*Support the NPI function by developing production routes to deliver FAI samples and a production ready process in line with program requirements.
*Adopt new technology / novel processing routes to improve existing products and develop new materials.
*Work with Quality Engineers to agree measurement criteria.
*Work with operations to ensure production route is viable.
*Generate information for standard operating instructions as necessary.
*Develop gauging/measurement requirements with Quality Engineers
*Liaise with both internal and external customers including certification bodies or agencies.
*Participate in product process improvement activities to improve productivity and profitability.
*Participate in structured problem solving activities.





Suitable Candidate:

*Experienced Manufacturing Engineer or Production Engineer, from a metal components / metal processing environment such as machining, pressing, forging, welding, casting, tube bending etc.
*Ideally from an Aerospace or Automotive background
*Ability to read engineering drawings
*Continuous Improvements experience is essential - must be able to demonstrate
*Practical hands on engineering skills together with the ability to design and implement ideas
*Strong written and verbal communication skills, and computer literate
*Apprentice trained or HND or equivalent
