We are actively recruiting for a Production Line Technician who has experience and knowledge working within a demanding fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment, preferably Food.

The Production Line Technician will be responsible for a team of operators who will carry out production line checks at the start of each day to ensure the line is ready; all maintenance will be carried out in accordance with the Engineering team. From observing the production line you will need to identify faults and communicate these to the production and engineering teams. Main Duties - Engineering

Initiate, develop and implement improvements to both current equipment and procedures to reduce equipment downtime and increase efficiency.
Assist in developing manufacturing capability through investment in new equipment / tooling / fixtures / technologies.

Key Areas

2. Responsible for the overall management of projects under the direction of the Manufacturing Technical Manger.

9. Coordinate the machine build.

14. Responsible for the production of mechanical documentation and the collation of all other documentation to form the machine Technical File.

Measurement tools available are 2 C.M.M. machines including a modern just purchased OGP machine including optical capability, plus verniers and shadowgraph. Training on the C.M.M. to adjust to a new type of machine is available but if you are conversant with Measuremind this will be an advantage.
Record keeping is also a requirement of the position.

A flexible approach to working throughout the UK and abroad is needed along with the ability to communicate with people at all levels. You will have an eye for detail and be driven by reaching deadline and problem solving in a effective and timely manner.

An additional aptitude but not essential would be a foreign language skill.

Working as a service engineer, within Restaurants, Schools, Hotels and Hospitals, carrying out routine service checks on a variety of stainless steel catering equipment, including ovens, fryers, dishwashers, grills etc.

The ideal applicant will have at least 2 years experience working on the above equipment, and have COM CAT qualifications from any of the following 1,2,3,4,5.

This is a client facing roll, instructions on servicing will be received via blackberry the evening before, you will then attend site, carry out the service and move on to any other bookings for that day.

A fully Expensed van will be provided to the suitable applicant, which is also available for personal use.

Overtime is available, and paid at premium rates, and some weekend call out cover is required.

The role will also involve installations on occasion.
