KIDs OUT – Ray Hunt utilised ‘Pay it Forward’ for this charity day
Ray Hunt, Chairman of the 41 Club and part of the Roundtable Charity, decided to use Simon Holdings ‘Pay it Forward’ to help entertain mentally & physically disabled children at the local Rotary’s annual event called ‘KIDs OUT’.
The company scheme contributes holiday time towards any member of staff who gives up their own time for charitable causes. Therefore, if this particular event took a day, Ray would only need to take a half day as holiday.
The event costs over £15,000 put on it is a day of fun for disabled children, Ray dressed up as a clown called Mr T.Pot and helped entertain 882 mentally or physically disabled children for the day.
Activities on the day included: 3 giant slides, miniature train ride, animal farm, funfair, plate smashing stalls, coconut shy, face painting, Police, Ambulance and Fire vehicles to climb all over, puppet shows and entertainers, free ice cream and lunch and much much more.
Ray was touched by Disney’s generosity:
“Though on a day like this, money is not in question, it was made even better by the fact that the Disney origination donated over £10,000 pounds worth of Disney products to give the children to take home with them.
“Seeing the children really enjoying them-selves, smiling and laughing all-day, made all the hard work organising the event worth while.”
