Background:
Jo Bailey has achieved a unique position at Reckitt’s whereby she is the only recruitment consultant to be given direct access to Line Managers for their recruitment requirements.
Normally, all recruitment is driven through HR, with no access to Line Managers, for all agencies, including Jenrick. This was until Jo Bailey took the pro-active approach of giving a detailed presentation to the Head of Human Resources.
In the presentation Jo explained the value she would be able to add to the recruitment process if she could work directly with Line Managers, yet still ensuring HR were kept fully in the communication loop.
In particular, Jo referred to the added detail she can gain regarding the Job Specification that would help her identify highly suited candidates. In addition, Jo also visited the site to make sure that all recommended candidates would fit in with the existing engineering team.
Furthermore, working with the Line Managers substantially reduced the time between CV submission and interview confirmation, ensuring that the first choice of candidates were always available.
